To Use the Core

  1. Appointment - Make an appointment to speak with the Core director if you think that this may be helpful.

  2. Project Form - Complete the project form available here, and submit it as an email enclosure to Core director.

    This form consists of three parts:

    1. contact and billing information;

    2. description of project (please complete with all of the information requested); and

    3. sample information and chip type.

  3. Sample Submission - For each sample, you will ideally have 15 μg of total RNA in a volume of 10 μl (maximum of 50 μl). Keep in mind that larger volumes will have to be reduced under vacuum so try to concentrate samples as much as possible. Standard 1.5mL eppendorf tubes are required. Make sure the tube and application are labeled exactly the same. Write the sample name on the top of the tube, and include your initials on the side. Please do not tape any labels to the side of the tube. If you submit samples in any other type of tube, they will be returned to you and you will have to transfer them to the correct tube. Please see sample dropoff sample dropoff information.

    Please Note: Because of the software restrictions, sample names may only consist of the following characters:

    • UPPER or lower case letters
    • numbers 0 through 9
    • hyphen -
    • period .
    • underscore _

  4. Results - You will be notified when your data has been posted at a password-protected URL. If a problem arises with the analysis of one or more of your specimens, you will be contacted at that time.
