Biostatistic Services
|
Overview
The intent of this service is to provide consultation and computing resources
for researchers who (1) are doing their own microarray experimental design and
data analysis without a biostatistics collaborator, or (2) are carrying out
preliminary data analyses in order to assist their biostatistics collaborator,
or (3) simply want to understand the concepts and tools involved in planning
and analyzing microarray experiments. The consultation involves educating
and helping with troubleshooting--the staff will not perform analyses for
investigators.
Staff
Changzhong Chen is a biostatistician in the DFCI Department of Biostatistical
Sciences. He will be available for consultation in room 1129 in the Smith
Building at the following times:
|
| Tuesday | 8:30-4:30 |
| Thursday | 8:30-4:30 |
| Friday | 8:30-12:30 |
|
|
He can be reached by phone during scheduled hours at
(617) 632-5979, or by email at biostat@chip.dfci.harvard.edu.
Investigators are free to drop in or to make an appointment.

Software
Assistance with the following software is, or will soon be available:
- Microarray Suite 5.0 (Affymetrix)
- dChip (Li and Wong)
- Bioconductor (R, Gentleman)
- Cluster/Treeview (Stanford, Eisen)
- GeneCluster (Whitehead)
- GeneSight (Biodiscovery)
Computers
While most analyses can be done at investigators' computers, there are several
computers in room 1129 of the Smith Building that may be used to analyze
data from microarray experiments.
